For all of you who have been so kindly asking about when our lessons will return, we arae still unsure. It is a lot to explain, but since you have come this far, please let me go on.
HELENE: Although our home and studio were not directly damaged, our clay and chemical supplier in Asheville was destroyed during and is closed indefinitely.
We do have enough clay and materials to get us through the busy making season, now that water and power are restored. However, we need to reserve our resources. Moving forward, we will be changing our clay body and company. This is a deeply involved process including a series of tests.
Lessons are paused until probably Spring 2025. We hope you can understand the situation and know that we are always enjoy our guests and want to give you the best experience. We are prepared to honor all gift certificates and any postponed lessons as soon as we can.

MAKE YOUR OWN Pottery!
Yes, you get to make your own pottery! Each of our lessons are designed to be a fun activity for everyone, no matter your experience level.

Hands on professional instruction
Several different glaze choices
All firings: Batton Clayworks will carefully handle your creations for the proper drying, glazing and two firing processes which will be completed in the weeks after your class.
Every lesson has a “turn” at the wheel.
Other things to note:
flat rate $30 Shipping fee is added for USA packages. includes insurance.
YOUR Pottery will be ready approximately 6 weeks from class date. (there are sometimes delays to allow for observed holiday weeks such as thanksgiving, christmas, spring break and 4th of July.)
You are welcome to bring snacks and beverages. (Please understand that this is a residential property and we just ask you to be responsible.)
Minors must be accompanied by at least one adult, unless agreed upon prior to lesson. (Adult does not have to participate, but must be present at all times. This is a very safe environment, but we want to be sure all needs of children are met without interruption of lesson.)
We do not provide kiln use for any pottery made outside of our studio.
Full bathroom facilities onsite.
for Handicap: The building is accessible with one small step onto the entry deck and door threshold. the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible.
All Gift Certificates purchased prior to January 4th, 2024 will be honored in full of the 2023 rates.
